Diversico’s designed a replacement of a welded, two-piece tubular assembly with a single piece, swaged part. The product is used to connect a horse trailer to a trailer hitch. Diversico improved the product’s strength and function by swaging the part from 1010 carbon steel, enlarging it from a standard 4 inch diameter at one end to an expanded 4-1/4 inch diameter at the other end. With an overall 25 inch length, Diversico’s swaging process provided a smooth, clean enlargement of the tube while adding structural ruggedness for trouble-free performance. By making the change, the stress point in the welded assembly was totally eliminated. |
