Problem: Reduce cost, simplify part design and improve aesthetics. Original assembly included 2" O.D. tube, a 1/2" rod and two centering spacers welded on the centerline of one end.
Solution: Special rotary swage operation developed by Diversico made it possible to reduce the assembly into a single part by swaging one end of a 2" O.D. tube into a solid 1/2" O.D. rod. Diversico defied swaging standards by 2 1/2 times. Cost was reduced. A stronger, higher-quality part resulted. |
